What a Whirlwind!

Our first week open has been a whirlwind, to say the least.  Our fresh pasta and sauces have been a hit—and our fresh lasagnes and pasta bakes are flying off the shelves!

Not sure if you’ve had the opportunity to check out the location at 109 North Front Street (across from Remax and Metro), but you’re in for a real treat.   The old “Coulter’s Hardware” building has been revamped with pressed concrete steps and patio, black wrought-iron railings, black and white checkered flooring and Mediterranean inspired décor.  The 60 foot sign band is framed by a rich, green moulding advertising in large print our “Fresh Pasta, Sauces & Take-Away” meals.   In the next few months—once we’ve hired some help and established our processes— we will be expanding our pasta menu to new sauces, cannelloni and yes, ravioli.

Just a reminder that Pasta Tavola is not a restaurant.  We are a traditional pasta shop where you can pick-up your fresh pasta, sauce and oven-ready pasta trays & lasagnes and within a short cooking time have a fabulous authentic Italian feast!

Thanks to all the Bellevillians who have come to visit the pasta ladies and have shared in the Pasta Tavola experience.  Also a big thanks to all our “farmers market” friends and customers who continue to support us.

Each week new items will be added to our menu and each month we will be featuring a new Gourmet Sauce.  This week  “Arrabiatta” sauce (oohh spicy!) was added to our weekly menu.  Our featured January Gourmet Sauce is Roasted Garlic and Rosemary.  Continue to check out our website for product and menu updates.  Become a friend on facebook & follow us on twitter!

Happy New Year everyone!

Our Doors are Open… For Real!

This just in!  Pasta Tavola has received the final “o.k.” to open its doors!

We will be officially open tomorrow — Saturday December 18th at 9:00 a.m..  We will be extending our Saturday hours of operation to 6:00 p.m.. The Pasta Ladies will be making pasta all day, so come and watch us through our viewing window!

Many of our authentic pasta products will be available in-store along with our biscotti, pizzelle. and foccacia bread.  Specialty pastas will be coming very soon.  For those who have voted for our opening day “featured biscotti”, it looks like Cranberry Pistachio has won out (don’t worry, we’ll also have Chocolate Peppermint Biscotti’s too!)

Big thanks to all our supporters for your patience through this process. We look forward to welcoming you at our shop in the coming days!

We should be on Reality T.V.!

What would life be without a little drama? Paula and I are up to our elbows in flour preparing for our big debut, but it looks like we have run into a bit of delay with opening Pasta Tavola for Monday December 13th.

The shop is ready to go but we are waiting on one last piece before we can get the final “ok” to open our doors to the public. While Paula and I feel like we are on a “reality t.v.” show we know that the wait will be well worth it for our customers!

What a Small World!

Paula and I have been hard at work getting Pasta Tavola pasta shop ready for our opening in December.  On Tuesday we made a road trip to North Bay to pick-up a pasta machine for our gluten-free line.

What a small world it is!  We bought our machine from a lovely Italian couple named Marissa and Dante.  It just so happens that members of their family immigrated to Canada from Ofena, Italy—the same hometown our Nonna and mother is from!
